Telangana job protests surge as displaced families and youth demand employment
Displaced families from the Yadadri Thermal Power Station in Nalgonda district gathered in front of the 5×800 MW plant in Veerlapalam village, demanding permanent jobs for at least one member of every family and financial assistance until placements are secured. They called for vacancies in the plant and its associated services, urging the government to set a deadline for job provision. Police attempted to disperse the protest, but tensions remained high.
In Hyderabad, a flash protest at Indira Park crossroads saw unemployed youth demand a fresh recruitment notification for 19,000 police vacancies, arguing that the announced 7,437 posts are insufficient. Demonstrators also asked for an increase in the upper age limit for police recruitment. Police quickly restored order with no reported incidents. Both protests highlight growing unemployment concerns and pressure on the Telangana government to accelerate job creation and recruitment processes.
