Telangana political tensions rise over BRS mock Assembly

Political tensions in Telangana have escalated following a mock Assembly organized by Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) Working President K. Tarak Rama Rao (KTR) at Telangana Bhavan. KTR defended the move, claiming the ruling Congress party suspended BRS MLAs to avoid discussing corruption and public issues, thereby making a mockery of democracy.

In response, Congress leader Motha Rohit criticized the mock Assembly as a ‘cheap mean’ and an attempt to imitate ministerial mannerisms rather than providing constructive criticism. Rohit argued that such behavior is not how democracy functions and accused BRS leadership of being responsible for the state's decline during their previous decade in power.

Additionally, KTR accused the Congress government of pushing the state toward ‘absolute chaos.’ He specifically cited an alleged attack on his staff inside a police station, suggesting that the state machinery is enabling ‘goondaism’ and expressing concern that such incidents could lead to street violence.
