Telangana releases draft electoral rolls for special revision
Telangana Chief Electoral Officer C Sudharsan Reddy has released the draft electoral rolls as part of the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR). The release follows an enumeration phase where approximately 78.30 per cent of enumeration forms were collected.
Approximately 92 lakh electors are expected to receive notices. This includes 32 lakh unmapped voters and 60 lakh electors whose details contain anomalies, such as discrepancies in names, ages, or parental details. These notices will be delivered via Booth Level Officers.
A claims and objections phase is currently underway and will run until September 16. During this period, citizens can use Form 8 to correct details, Form 6 to add missing names, or Form 7 to object to ineligible voters. The notice phase will continue until October 15, with the final electoral roll scheduled for publication on October 19.
