Telangana to Deploy AI System to Plug GST Leakages and Boost Revenue

Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy announced that the state government will introduce an artificial‑intelligence‑based platform to identify and close gaps in the Goods and Services Tax (GST) system, aiming to increase revenue collections. The AI tool is intended to simplify procedures for GST officials and integrate data across municipal administration, the Real Estate Development Authority, Panchayat Raj, energy, finance and commercial‑tax departments.

Economist Arvind Subramanian, who met with the chief minister, said the technology could raise state revenues while improving the ease of doing business. The plan also calls for linking the AI platform with existing state services such as MeeSeva, Aarogyasri and the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund to enhance coordination and policy implementation. Senior officials, including Chief Secretary Sanjay Jaju, attended the briefing.
