Telecinco announces ‘Rueda la letra’ game show hosted by Carlos Sobera

Telecinco is preparing to launch a new game show titled ‘Rueda la letra’, hosted by Carlos Sobera, in an effort to compete with Antena 3’s ‘Pasapalabra’. The new format aims to replicate the mechanics of the popular circular word test.

Due to intellectual property restrictions, Mediaset cannot use the term ‘El Rosco’, which is the exclusive commercial trademark of ITV Studios, the producer of ‘Pasapalabra’. To navigate these legal constraints, the network has officially registered several alternative names, including ‘La rueda de las palabras’, ‘La rueda de las letras’, and ‘La Rueda’.

A promotional campaign has already begun, featuring a humorous nod to Carlos Sainz’s 1998 Rally of Great Britain. While the exact premiere date has not been announced, the show is expected to arrive “muy pronto” (very soon).
