Telecom Egypt and Ain Shams University partner on AI education platform

Telecom Egypt and Ain Shams University have signed a cooperation protocol to implement the ‘WE SmartED’ solution, an artificial intelligence-powered platform designed to enhance the educational process. Supported by Telecom Egypt’s ‘Digital SmartED’ platform, the project will serve approximately 10,000 students and faculty members during the current academic year as a pilot program.

The system is intended to analyze student interactions and performance, identify areas for academic improvement, and provide digital tools to support teaching and learning. The initiative aims to bridge learning gaps and increase faculty productivity by automating certain aspects of academic monitoring.

Telecom Egypt CEO Tamer El Mahdy stated that this partnership is part of a strategic shift to transition the company from a traditional telecommunications operator into an integrated provider of digital solutions and advanced technological infrastructure. The agreement was signed by El Mahdy and Ain Shams University President Mohamed Diaa Zain El-Abedeen.
