Telecom industry faces AI grounding challenges as ANTA expands partnerships

The telecommunications industry is increasingly adopting Agentic AI to manage network operations, including autonomous closed loops, capacity planning, and incident resolution. However, experts highlight a significant “grounding problem,” where AI reasoning is limited by the accuracy of available infrastructure data. If asset records or topology information are outdated, AI may produce confident but incorrect decisions, posing operational risks.

To address the challenges of transitioning to AI-native networks, the AI-Native Telco Accelerator (ANTA) is expanding its collaborative ecosystem. The initiative recently added seven new partners, including communications service providers Vodafone, SLT-Mobitel, Mettel, and Fastweb, as well as technology innovators Amdocs and Rakuten Symphony, and The Linux Foundation. ANTA serves as a neutral forum for operators and technology providers to share research and best practices to move beyond AI experimentation toward large-scale deployment.
