Teledyne FLIR OEM selected for U.S. Army thermal imaging initiative

Teledyne FLIR OEM has been selected to support the U.S. Army’s Delivering Unmatched Thermal Capability Hastened (DUTCH) initiative. The program is led by the Office of the Assistant Secretary of War for Critical Technologies and the U.S. Army Combat Capabilities Development Command (DEVCOM) C5ISR Center.

The initiative aims to enhance next-generation uncooled thermal infrared (IR) sensing for defense applications. Key objectives include improving sensor performance while reducing size, weight, power, and cost (SWaP-C), as well as scaling these technologies for high-volume production.

Uncooled thermal sensors are vital for various defense technologies, including weapons sights, thermal binoculars, loitering munitions, and uncrewed aerial systems. Teledyne FLIR OEM will utilize its system integration expertise to align with U.S. Army modernization priorities and strengthen the domestic industrial base.
