Telegram to launch native non-custodial Gram wallet for 1 billion users

Telegram announced that it will integrate a native, non‑custodial crypto wallet for its Gram token into every version of the messaging app. The rollout is planned for the summer and targets the platform’s roughly 1 billion active users worldwide. The wallet will operate on the TON (The Open Network) blockchain, giving users direct control of private keys and enabling instant, fee‑free transfers without leaving the app.

Founder and CEO Pavel Durov shared the news on X, noting that the new Gram wallet replaces the existing custodial bot and will allow users to store, send, and receive Gram and other assets directly. Following the announcement, the GRAM token rose more than 8% intraday, reaching about $1.66 before settling near $1.51 as investors assessed the impact of the rollout.
