Telemedicine expands healthcare access in Bahia and Criciúma

Telemedicine initiatives are expanding healthcare access in different regions of Brazil. In Bahia, the Federation of Agriculture and Livestock of the State of Bahia (Faeb), in partnership with the Confederation of Agriculture and Livestock of Brazil (CNA), is providing remote medical services to over 10,000 rural producers. This initiative aims to address labor shortages and the difficulty rural workers face when traveling long distances to reach medical facilities.

In Criciúma, the municipal government, in collaboration with the Cisamrec consortium, is launching a 24/7 video call medical service. The platform allows registered residents to consult doctors via smartphone or computer with expected wait times between five and ten minutes. The service is designed to provide a continuous entry point for medical care, accessible even when residents are traveling outside the city.
