Teletón 20-30 organizes fundraising for earthquake victims in Panama

The Teletón 20-30 organization, through the Club Activo 2030 of Panama, will hold a special fundraising event on Saturday, October 24, to support families in central provinces affected by the October 9 earthquake. The initiative aims to assist with housing needs, as approximately 2,700 homes have been destroyed, many of which were occupied by individuals with disabilities.

Giacomo Tamburelli, president of Teletón 20-30, stated that the funds are intended to complement, rather than replace, existing government programs. To ensure transparency, the Comptroller General of the Republic, Anel Flores, will oversee the collection and distribution of funds. The Ministry of Housing and Territorial Planning (Miviot) will work in coordination with the Comptroller's office to evaluate affected communities and identify specific family needs directly, without intermediaries.
