Tempest Rising expansion The Veti’s Wrath to launch September 29

Developer Slipgate Ironworks and publisher Knights Peak have announced 'The Veti’s Wrath', a new expansion for the real-time strategy (RTS) game Tempest Rising. Scheduled for release on September 29, the expansion introduces the Veti, a technologically advanced third playable faction.

The expansion features a new single-player campaign consisting of 11 missions told from the Veti perspective. While the campaign is a paid component available as standalone DLC or via a new Gold Edition, the Veti faction will be accessible to all existing Tempest Rising owners for free in multiplayer, skirmish, and custom game modes via a simultaneous update.

The Veti faction includes a variety of units and structures, including 9 buildings, 7 vehicles, 6 infantry units, 5 air units, and 5 specialists. Tempest Rising is set in an alternate 1997 history following a nuclear war triggered by the Cuban Missile Crisis.
