Developer Slipgate Ironworks and publisher Knights Peak announced ‘The Veti’s Wrath’, a new expansion for the real-time strategy game Tempest Rising. The expansion was scheduled for a September 29 release and introduces the Veti, described as an ancient and technologically advanced third playable faction.

The expansion includes an 11-mission single-player campaign focused on the Veti reclaiming lost technology and fighting corruption. While the campaign is a paid component, the Veti faction is provided for free to all existing players for use in multiplayer, skirmish, and custom game modes.

Upon its release on Steam, the DLC introduced unique mechanics such as transforming defeated soldiers into ‘Enlightened’ units and sacrificing units to empower machines. The expansion is priced at $19.99, with a Gold Edition also available.
