Tempest Rising launches The Veti’s Wrath expansion on Steam

The real-time strategy game Tempest Rising has released its new expansion, The Veti’s Wrath, on Steam. Developed by Saber Interactive, 3D Realms, Knights Peak, and Slipgate Ironworks, the DLC introduces the Veti, an ancient and technologically advanced alien race that serves as the game’s third playable faction.

The expansion features a new 11-mission single-player campaign centered on the Veti attempting to reclaim lost technology and combat corruption following the Tempest Wars. While the campaign is part of the paid DLC, the Veti faction is available for free to all players in multiplayer, skirmish, and custom game modes.

The Veti faction introduces unique gameplay mechanics, such as the ability to transform defeated soldiers into Enlightened units and sacrifice units to empower machines. New units include the War Ender and Phantom Artillery, alongside abilities involving teleportation. The DLC is priced at $19.99, with a Gold Edition including the base game and original campaigns also available.
