Tencent leads China's AI office agent market expansion

The market for AI office agents in China has transitioned rapidly from testing phases to mass-market adoption. Tencent currently leads this sector with its WorkBuddy desktop agent, which recorded 20.97 million visits in June 2026, accounting for more than half of the total visits across the 17 major desktop agents in the market.

Major technology firms are consolidating their offerings into specialized agent families: Tencent utilizes WorkBuddy, Alibaba operates under the Qwen Office brand, and ByteDance integrates its agents through Doubao and Feishu. This shift focuses on controlling workflows and data by occupying the desktop interface rather than just providing underlying models.

In the enterprise software sector, Kingdee has introduced an AI operating system via its Lingee platform, specifically designed for micro and small businesses. This system provides six ready-to-use agents covering procurement, sales, warehousing, vehicle dispatch, finance, and data-driven decision-making. Other major players, such as Yonyou and Weimob, are also restructuring their core products to center on AI agents to automate complex business processes.
