Tennessee Flash Floods Prompt Warnings and Heat Advisory

Severe thunderstorms on June 9 dropped up to four inches of rain across Henry, Weakley and Carroll counties in West Tennessee, prompting a series of flash‑flood warnings and an advisory that remained in effect until early evening. The National Weather Service reported flooding in dozens of community areas, including Paris, McKenzie, Dresden and many smaller towns, and warned of rising water on roads, underpasses and creeks.

Later that evening a heat advisory was issued but lifted within two hours. A separate moderate flood watch now covers all of Middle Tennessee through Tuesday afternoon, citing the risk of rivers, creeks and low‑lying urban areas flooding as additional showers are expected. Residents are advised to avoid flooded roadways and stay alert to weather updates.
