Tennessee names George MacIntyre starting quarterback
Tennessee Volunteers quarterback George MacIntyre has been named the starter for the upcoming road game against the Arkansas Razorbacks. The decision follows MacIntyre’s performance during Tennessee’s 24-14 victory over Auburn, where he entered the game in the second half to replace Faizon Brandon.
During his relief appearance against Auburn, MacIntyre completed eight of 10 passes for 86 yards, maintaining an 80% completion rate and avoiding turnovers. His play helped stabilize the offense and support a 220-yard rushing performance by Bishop.
Head coach Josh Heupel previously noted that Brandon had been struggling due to a shoulder injury sustained during a game against Texas, where he was sacked 10 times. While Heupel had not officially confirmed the change prior to Monday, the team has now moved forward with MacIntyre leading the offense for the matchup in Fayetteville.
