Teramo province leads national Sportività Index 2026, says CONI Abruzzo

The province of Teramo was highlighted as a top performer in the 2026 Sportività Index released by Il Sole 24 Ore and analysed by CONI Abruzzo. In the national ranking Teramo placed 37th overall and was the highest‑ranking province in Abruzzo, scoring 307 points. The province topped several key indicators, including the greatest number of sports societies outside the provincial capital, first place for outdoor sports participation, and second nationally in amateur football (Serie D and Eccellenza).

CONI Abruzzo president Antonello Passacantando called the results “a pride for all of Abruzzo” and said the region will continue to invest in sport. The index evaluates 32 criteria across infrastructure, team and individual sports, and the relationship between sport and society, confirming the breadth and vitality of the sports network across Teramo’s coastal and inland municipalities.
