FS Logistix expands to 23 hubs as Terminali Italia takes over Orte Intermodal Terminal
From January 2027 Terminali Italia, a subsidiary of FS Logistix, will manage the new Terminal Intermodale di Orte in central Italy. The hand‑over raises FS Logistix’s directly managed European network to 23 intermodal hubs. The 96 000 m² facility includes three dedicated rail tracks, gantry cranes, locomotives and other lifting equipment. It is situated at the Orte railway node where the Rome‑Florence line, the Orte‑Falconara line and the Scandinavian‑Mediterranean corridor intersect, and is adjacent to the A1 motorway and the E45/SS675 road. The terminal is intended to serve the Rome metropolitan area, the port of Civitavecchia and key industrial districts such as Terni steel, Narni chemicals, Civita Castellana ceramics and the Tuscia agro‑food sector, strengthening rail‑road logistics and reducing environmental impact. “Our aim is to work immediately with the market to build rail links and services that meet the needs of production and distribution chains,” said Sabrina De Filippis, CEO of FS Logistix.
