Regional entrepreneurship and innovation initiatives expand in Argentina and Chile

Various regional initiatives across Argentina and Chile are focusing on entrepreneurship, innovation, and infrastructure development.

In Tierra del Fuego, Argentina, Terra Ignis Energía S.A. has partnered with the Ministry of Production and Environment to sponsor the sixth edition of TDF Innova. The program, which has extended its registration deadline to August 18, aims to recognize technological and scientific innovation projects. Additionally, the provincial government is promoting local commerce through the Emprender TDF fairs in Ushuaia and Tolhuin.

In Chubut, Argentina, the government has launched the 2026 Entrepreneurial Development program, a virtual competition involving over 50 student projects focused on social and environmental impact. Meanwhile, in Mendoza, the Emprende U 2026 contest is entering its final stages, featuring student projects ranging from smart bracelets for the visually impaired to blockchain-based emergency management tools.

In Chile, the Sustainable Woman Award is accepting nominations until August 15, utilizing artificial intelligence to assist the application process. Furthermore, the University of Concepción is hosting the 7th Gear Challenge, a technological acceleration program where 24 engineering teams are competing for potential investment from US-based investors. In the Biobío region, the CPC Biobío has opened calls for its 2026 Innovation Awards to highlight successful regional enterprises.
