Terracina launches free summer program to protect marine turtles

Legambiente is organising a series of free, public events in Terracina throughout July and August 2026 to promote the protection of marine turtle nests. The programme starts on July 10 with a “Discovering Sea Turtles” session at Hotel Anna, followed by a national “Tarta Beach Tour” on July 19 at Rive di Traiano, and another “Discovering Sea Turtles” activity on July 30 at Il Rifugio. In August, the “Tarta Café” informal gatherings are held on the 9th at the municipal beach and on the 22nd at Beach Point, offering games, simulations and talks about the marine ecosystem. The events involve local administrators, researchers, volunteers and the Civil Protection, and are aimed at families and schoolchildren to raise awareness of marine conservation.
