Terry Lamar Easter charged with murder in fatal California street race

Terry Lamar Easter, a 50-year-old resident of Apple Valley, has been charged with two counts of murder following a high-speed street racing crash in Victorville, California. The incident, which occurred on August 14, resulted in the deaths of two high school seniors, 17-year-old Maddalyn Dailey and 16-year-old Isabell DeLang.

According to the San Bernardino County District Attorney’s Office and the California Highway Patrol, Easter was driving a Chevrolet Camaro at approximately 117 mph when he struck an Acura TL. The collision was so severe that the Acura was split in half. At the time of the crash, Easter’s 8-year-old child was a passenger in his vehicle and sustained injuries.

Authorities state that Easter fled the scene immediately following the collision, abandoning his child. After a nearly two-week search during which police issued a warrant describing him as ‘armed and dangerous,’ Easter turned himself in on a Wednesday morning. District Attorney Jason Anderson characterized the event not as an accident, but as a ‘deliberate and extraordinarily dangerous choice.’
