Tesco launches 5% fuel discount for UK shoppers spending £60

Tesco announced a new promotion for UK motorists that gives a 5 % discount on petrol and diesel at its forecourt stations when a customer spends at least £60 in a single store transaction. The paper coupon can be redeemed at Tesco‑branded forecourts across Britain until 23 August, delivering up to 8 p per litre in savings and a maximum discount of £10 per driver. The offer does not apply to pay‑at‑pump pumps, unmanned stations, Northern Ireland, the Isle of Man or Tesco Express sites that sell Esso fuel.

The promotion comes as UK fuel prices continue to climb, with average petrol nearing £1.60 per litre and diesel above £1.75. Supermarket forecourts—including those operated by Tesco, Asda and Costco—are being cited as cheaper alternatives to branded pumps, helping drivers offset higher wholesale oil costs driven by global market tensions.
