TESK President warns parents on school shopping safety

Bendevi Palandöken, President of the Confederation of Turkish Tradesmen and Craftsmen (TESK), has issued warnings to parents regarding school shopping ahead of the new academic year. He advised families to avoid unregulated, ‘under-the-counter’ products and instead prioritize reliable tradesmen to ensure the safety of children.

Palandöken emphasized that products such as stationery, bags, and clothing should meet quality standards, specifically noting the importance of the CE mark for items like erasers and pens that young children may put in their mouths. Additionally, he advocated for parental freedom in choosing school uniforms, arguing that schools should not mandate specific brands or stores, which can place an undue economic burden on families.
