Tesla advances FSD testing in Sweden amid global regulatory scrutiny

Tesla has completed nearly one year of Full Self-Driving (FSD) Supervised testing in Sweden. The testing covered complex urban environments and rural roads across various Nordic weather conditions, including ice and rain. This validation follows Sweden clearing public-road testing and aligns with Swedish government ambitions for Union-wide FSD Supervised approval within the EU.

Simultaneously, Tesla faces scrutiny regarding its push for unsupervised FSD technology. In the United States, the National Highway Safety Commission has upgraded its safety investigation into FSD to a more serious engineering analysis phase. This follows reports of drivers failing to supervise the system. Additionally, Tesla faces regulatory hurdles in China, where national security concerns regarding on-board sensors and the company's reliance on camera-based systems complicate market entry.
