Tesla and Pilot partner to build Megacharger network for Semi trucks

Tesla and travel center chain Pilot have launched their first Megacharger station in Ellabell, Georgia. The site features six heavy-duty charging stalls capable of delivering up to 1.2 megawatts of power. This high-capacity charging allows a Tesla Semi to recover 60% of its charge in approximately 30 minutes, aligning with standard driver rest periods.

The partnership aims to establish a network of over a dozen Megacharger sites along major freight corridors, including the I-5 and I-10 interstates. Upcoming locations include Tulare, California; Fort Stockton, Texas; and North Las Vegas, Nevada. The network will span California, Georgia, Indiana, Nevada, and Texas.

In addition to the US rollout, Tesla has begun deploying Megachargers in Europe, with plans for over 100 stations capable of megawatt-level output.
