Tesla Cybertruck stopped on German highway due to licensing and registration issues
Police in Bavaria, Germany, intercepted a Tesla Cybertruck on the A99 motorway near Vaterstetten. The vehicle, which carries Polish registration, was operated by a 50-year-old Swedish driver who did not possess the required driving permit for a vehicle of its weight class.
With a gross vehicle weight of 4,200 kilograms, German law requires a Class C1 or Class C license, whereas the driver only held a standard Class B permit. The vehicle was prohibited from continuing its journey and was held at the Hohenbrunn police station until a driver with the appropriate license could collect it.
Notably, the Cybertruck is not officially approved for road use in Germany because it fails to meet several European safety regulations. While the vehicle was registered in Poland, reports suggest that some users in the EU have attempted to bypass these regulatory restrictions.
