Tesla develops FSD Lite for Australia and faces Supercharger voting scrutiny

Tesla is developing Full Self-Driving (FSD) Supervised v14 Lite for Hardware 3 vehicles in Australia and New Zealand. While Hardware 4 vehicles in these right-hand-drive markets have had access to FSD Supervised v14 since June, Hardware 3 owners have been awaiting a compatible build. Tesla stated that v14 Lite is designed to deliver v14 features within the technical capabilities of Hardware 3 while maintaining safety standards.

Separately, questions have been raised regarding Tesla’s Supercharger site selection process in Australia. During a recent quarterly voting period, Balladonia led the vote for Australian sites with 814 votes, significantly outpacing other locations. However, Tesla announced Jurien Bay as the winner with only 353 votes, leading to scrutiny over the transparency and accuracy of the company’s community voting system.
