Tesla hardware and software updates show improved FSD reaction times

Recent tests and product updates regarding Tesla vehicles highlight developments in both autonomous driving capabilities and hardware specifications.

In performance testing of Tesla’s Full Self-Driving (FSD) software, a comparison between different hardware and software iterations revealed significant differences in reaction times. A vehicle equipped with Hardware 4 and FSD v14.3.4 demonstrated the fastest response to a simulated pedestrian, reacting in 0.450 seconds. This outperformed the Hardware 3 setup with FSD v14 Lite (0.675 seconds) and the Hardware 3 setup with FSD v12.6.4 (1.065 seconds).

Regarding vehicle features, Tesla has adjusted the specifications for the Model Y L in the United States. While the six-seat Model Y L launched in China includes a 50W ventilated wireless charger, the American version currently utilizes the standard 15W charger without active cooling. Tesla has indicated that the upgraded ventilated charging technology may not be integrated into the broader Model 3 and Model Y lineup until 2027.
