Tesla mandates driver feedback, speeds up Smart Summon in new FSD update

Tesla's latest Full Self-Driving software update introduces a mandatory driver‑feedback mechanism. In version 14.3.2, drivers must submit a response when they intervene, choosing from four categories—Navigation, Parking, Critical, and Other—via on‑screen buttons or the steering‑wheel microphone. The change aims to collect more data from the 10 billion miles of FSD driving, but some users warn it could distract attention at critical moments.

The same rollout also raises the top speed of the Actually Smart Summon feature by 33%, increasing the cap from 6 mph to 8 mph. The higher speed is limited to vehicles equipped with Tesla's AI4 (Hardware 4) compute, and follows a recent NHTSA investigation that found no injuries from the feature. Other tweaks include a live streak counter for uninterrupted FSD miles and a simplified feedback menu.
