Tesla offers free Supercharger charging in fire‑hit areas of France and Spain

Tesla announced that its Supercharger stations will be free of charge for all vehicles from July 29 until August 5 to support residents, emergency services and taxis evacuating from wildfires in the southwest of France and selected sites in Spain. The French sites include Arès, Biganos, Mérignac, Bordeaux‑Lac and Bègles, while several stations along evacuation routes in Spain are also covered. The offer is open to any electric vehicle, not just Tesla owners, and aims to reduce the financial burden on people displaced by the fires. Tesla has used similar measures after the 2024 earthquake in Japan and during the 2022 Ukraine crisis.

The initiative was publicised via a tweet on X and is part of the company’s broader disaster‑relief actions, complementing a parallel free‑charging programme launched by the French operator Electra for its own stations.
