Tesla partners with NatPower on 25 GWh battery storage project in Italy and UK

Tesla and NatPower have signed a multi‑year agreement to deliver more than 25 GWh of battery energy storage systems (BESS) across Italy and the United Kingdom. The deal covers five initial projects that will use Tesla’s Megapack units together with the company’s EPC services and the Autobidder software platform for automated energy trading. NatPower will own and operate the installations, while Tesla will provide hardware, software and long‑term revenue warranties.

The partnership is the first phase of a larger programme targeting over 100 GWh of storage capacity. The full scope is estimated to involve $4‑5 billion in construction value and generate more than $15 billion in revenue over the next 20 years, according to NatPower. Executives highlighted the importance of large‑scale storage for integrating renewable generation on European grids.
