Tesla releases Summer Update 2026 with enhanced navigation and Grok assistant

Tesla announced its Summer Update 2026, one of four seasonal software releases each year. The update adds a more intelligent navigation system that suggests frequently visited locations such as homes, workplaces, schools or gyms, gives priority to routes the driver has previously taken, and allows users to search Supercharger stations by name. Drivers can also set a desired battery charge level for arrival directly from the mobile app.

The voice assistant Grok receives a major upgrade, now able to place phone calls, play music, adjust the climate control and open the front storage compartment via voice commands. Additional infotainment enhancements include the ability to view and share assisted‑driving statistics, load custom vehicle graphics without a USB key, and new entertainment options such as Caraoke, Apple Music integration and rear‑screen support. Grok’s expanded capabilities are rolled out to Tesla owners in Italy as part of the update.
