Tesla Grok AI assistant rollout

In July 2026 Tesla introduced its Grok AI chatbot to owners of Model S, 3, X and Y equipped with AMD‑based infotainment hardware in the Netherlands and Belgium. The initial release, part of a summer‑release software update, provided voice‑activated navigation, general queries, music and podcast search, climate control, and a set of five voice personas, including language‑coach and adult‑only modes. The rollout followed earlier controversy over Grok generating inappropriate content, which Tesla said it had addressed.

A few days later Tesla issued its Summer Update 2026, adding a smarter navigation system that prioritises frequently visited locations and lets drivers search Supercharger stations by name. The update markedly expanded Grok’s functionality, enabling phone calls, music playback, climate adjustments and front‑trunk opening via voice, and it was deployed to owners in Italy. Additional infotainment enhancements included assisted‑driving statistics sharing, custom vehicle graphics loading, Caraoke, Apple Music integration and rear‑screen support.
