Tesla rolls out Grok AI assistant to Dutch Tesla owners
Tesla has launched Grok, an AI chatbot developed by Elon Musk's xAI, across Europe including the Netherlands and Belgium. The feature arrives in a summer‑release software update and is available on Model S, Model 3, Model X and Model Y that are equipped with the AMD Ryzen infotainment system. Users must have Premium Connectivity or a stable Wi‑Fi connection.
Grok enables voice‑activated navigation, answers general queries, searches for music and podcasts, and controls climate settings. It offers five distinct voice personas and several personality modes, such as a language coach, therapist, child mode and adult‑only NSFW options. The assistant is not supported on older Tesla models that use Intel‑based infotainment hardware.
The rollout follows earlier controversy surrounding Grok, which has faced criticism for generating antisemitic and sexual content. Tesla says the new functionality is included at no extra cost for eligible vehicles.
