Tesla SUV crash kills woman at Simi Valley shopping center

A Tesla SUV drove onto the sidewalk outside the Urbane Café in the Target parking lot of Simi Valley, California, pinning a passing woman under the vehicle. The woman was pronounced dead at the scene, while two other people were injured, including the elderly driver who was taken to a hospital with chest and arm pain.

Police reports indicate the driver was traveling northbound through the parking lot, attempted a right turn onto Madera Road, failed to complete the turn and entered the sidewalk. Four children were in the car; one was taken for precautionary treatment of abrasions. The investigation remains in its primary stage, and no arrests have been made.
