Tesla receives regulatory approval for FSD in Slovenia

Tesla has received regulatory approval to introduce its Full Self-Driving (FSD) Supervised system in Slovenia, making it the sixth European country to permit the technology after the Netherlands, Lithuania, Estonia, Denmark, and Belgium.

FSD Supervised is a driver-assist system that can navigate streets, change lanes, and manage intersections, but it requires constant human supervision. Drivers remain legally responsible for the vehicle at all times. The rollout in Slovenia is expected to occur via over-the-air software updates for compatible Model 3 and Model Y vehicles.

A significant technical advancement in the latest FSD version (14.3.9) is the Automatic Collision Evasion feature. This system can take active control of steering, braking, and acceleration to perform evasive maneuvers if an imminent collision is detected and standard Automatic Emergency Braking is deemed insufficient. Notably, the system may also intervene if it detects significant driver distraction or if the assist function was unintentionally deactivated.

In separate testing, FSD demonstrated its ability to navigate narrow, crowded urban environments in Aarhus, Denmark, managing pedestrians and cyclists with minimal human intervention, though with some noted hesitation in tight spaces.
