Tesla Cybercab to feature integrated Starlink V5 satellite antenna

Tesla announced that its autonomous robotaxi, the Cybercab, will have SpaceX’s Starlink V5 satellite terminal built directly into the vehicle’s roof. The compact, lightweight dish (about 2.4 lb) sits alongside the GPS and 5G LTE antennas and is designed to provide high‑speed internet from orbit. Tesla says the connectivity is not required for safe self‑driving, but will support navigation, fleet dispatch, remote troubleshooting and passenger services, especially in cellular dead‑zone areas.

The rollout was disclosed through posts on X on 20 July 2026, with a cut‑away diagram showing the integrated antenna. While the Cybercab currently operates in a few U.S. cities that already have strong cellular coverage, the satellite link could extend service to remote regions in the future. No production schedule or pricing details were given, and Tesla emphasised that the Starlink link supplements, rather than replaces, its onboard AI hardware for autonomous driving.
