Tetovo Clinical Hospital faces patient surge from heat and water issues

The Tetovo Clinical Hospital is experiencing a significant surge in patients due to extreme temperatures and heatwave conditions during July and August. Official data indicates that approximately 750 patients presented with gastrointestinal symptoms, including diarrhea and vomiting, while roughly 630 patients sought medical assistance for cardiac issues and blood pressure irregularities.

In addition to heat-related illnesses, the hospital is facing overcrowding due to patients arriving from Gostivar. This influx follows the closure of operating and maternity rooms at the Gostivar General Hospital caused by water contamination issues. Since mid-July, over 200 patients from Gostivar have required medical care and surgical interventions at the Tetovo facility, with high demand noted in the obstetrics, gynecology, and urology departments.
