Texas officer charged with stalking using Flock cameras

An officer in Fort Bend County, Texas, has been charged with stalking and misuse of official information following allegations that he used Flock license plate reader cameras to track a woman. Court documents indicate that between November 2024 and April 2025, Sergio Rodriguez allegedly utilized the camera network to monitor the woman's location and placed a tracking device on her vehicle.

The incident follows a series of reported abuses involving the Flock camera system in Southeast Texas. Previous investigations have involved departments in Baytown, Pasadena, and Deer Park, as well as a Fort Bend County Sheriff's Deputy who allegedly performed excessive searches on specific individuals.

In response to these incidents, Flock has implemented platform updates designed to prevent abuse. New features include a tool to flag unusual search patterns and a requirement for law enforcement to provide a valid records code or criminal case number before conducting a database search.
