Texas police issue murder warrant for Venezuelan man after woman's death

Authorities in Denton, Texas, have confirmed the death of Marjulin Daiuru Briceño Arrieta, a 42-year-old Venezuelan national who had been missing since September 28. Following forensic analysis and DNA evidence, police issued an arrest warrant for murder against her former partner, 49-year-old Richard Pastor Pérez, who remains at large.

Briceño Arrieta was last seen leaving her workplace to meet Pérez at his apartment to discuss the sale of a vehicle and the purchase of a home in Venezuela. Before the meeting, she sent a voice message to a relative stating, “I am here, but I do not feel safe.”

Investigators located the victim's abandoned vehicle near Pérez's residence. While Pérez's vehicle was found in New Mexico on September 30, security footage shows him abandoning the car at a hotel before fleeing. The Denton County Chrome Stoppers program is offering a $2,000 reward for information leading to his capture.
