Florida Gators rise to No. 8 in AP Top 25 after Ole Miss upset

The Week 4 Associated Press Top 25 college football rankings saw significant movement following a weekend of major upsets. The Florida Gators surged 13 spots to No. 8 after a 52-28 victory over No. 4 Ole Miss. This win marks Florida's first top-10 appearance in five years and places them in contention for the College Football Playoff.

Ole Miss dropped to No. 9 following their loss. At the top of the poll, Texas maintained its No. 1 ranking after a narrow 20-17 win against Tennessee, followed by Georgia at No. 2 and Notre Dame at No. 3.

Other notable shifts include Miami rising to No. 4 and Ohio State moving to No. 5. Several ranked teams fell out of the rankings, including Penn State, Louisville, and Michigan. New entries to the Top 25 include Oklahoma State, UCLA, and Boise State, the latter being a prominent Group of Six representative.
