TGS advances gas infrastructure projects in Argentina

Transportadora de Gas del Sur (TGS) has initiated work on the Regional Centro II Gas Pipeline (GRCII) in collaboration with Litoralgas and Sacde. The project, located in Bella Italia, spans over 140 kilometers and is expected to be operational by early 2028. Once completed, the pipeline will quadruple the capacity of the existing Regional Centro pipeline, supporting more than 28,000 new homes and expanding service to residential, commercial, and industrial users in the Rafaela and Sunchales areas.

Additionally, TGS is accelerating strategic projects to support the growth of the Vaca Muerta formation. This includes the expansion of the Perito Moreno Gas Pipeline, which aims to add 14 million cubic meters of daily transport capacity by April 30, 2027. The expansion is intended to increase gas availability for winter and reduce national imports. TGS CEO Oscar Sardi noted that while weather conditions related to El Niño present logistical challenges for heavy machinery, the company remains confident in meeting its established deadlines.
