TGSPDCL records all-time high electricity demand of 12,044 MW

The Telangana Southern Power Distribution Company Limited (TGSPDCL) recorded its highest-ever electricity demand of 12,044 MW on Tuesday at 3:52 pm. This new peak surpasses the previous record of 11,828 MW set on September 11.

The surge in demand is attributed to rising electricity consumption across domestic, commercial, and industrial sectors. Within the Greater Hyderabad area, peak demand reached 4,072 MW on September 28, with consumption totaling 82.89 million units.

TGSPDCL officials stated that the distribution network maintained a steady power supply without major interruptions through precautionary measures, substation capacity augmentation, and network strengthening. The company is also implementing operational measures to meet agricultural electricity needs, such as paddy cultivation, in rural areas.
