TÜGVA launches Kitap Kurdu project in Gaziantep
The Türkiye Gençlik Vakfı (TÜGVA) held the launch of its ninth Kitap Kurdu (Bookworm) project at the Gaziantep University Mavera Congress and Art Center. The initiative aims to foster reading habits among youth to enhance academic success, self-expression, and historical awareness.
TÜGVA President İbrahim Beşinci announced that following last year's record of 358,000 participants, the organization aims to reach 450,000 young people this year. He emphasized the goal of raising a generation capable of producing ideas and interpreting global agendas rather than just holding diplomas.
Necmeddin Bilal Erdoğan, a member of the TÜGVA High Advisory Board, addressed students, noting that reading provides advantages in social life and standardized exams like LGS and YKS. He also highlighted the LALA audio book application as a resource for students. The event was attended by various local officials, including Gaziantep Governor Kemal Çeber and Mayor Fatma Şahin.
