Vietnam advances major transport and infrastructure projects

Vietnam is undergoing various infrastructure and transportation developments across several provinces. In the south, the Phuoc Khanh Bridge connecting Dong Nai and Ho Chi Minh City is nearing completion, with over 90% of the main structure finished and expected to open in September. Additionally, a proposed 46km railway line connecting Thu Thiem to Long Thành International Airport is being designed with a maximum speed of 120km/h and high-level automation (GoA4). The Dai Quang Minh Real Estate Investment JSC has proposed implementing Transit-Oriented Development (TOD) models near metro stations to optimize urban restructuring.

In Quang Tri, construction is progressing on the Nhat Le 3 Bridge and the connecting route between the East and West branches of the Ho Chi Minh Highway. Meanwhile, in Can Tho, authorities have requested central government support for an 80km specialized railway connecting Can Tho station to the Tran De seaport to enhance logistics capabilities.

In Ninh Binh, provincial authorities have ordered the urgent resolution of bottlenecks and land clearance issues for four key transport projects to ensure budget disbursement. In Ho Chi Minh City, plans are underway to replace the 120-year-old Tan Thuan 1 Bridge with a new, larger structure to meet increasing traffic demands.
