Thai Deputy PM Anutin vows zero tolerance in local exam corruption case

Deputy Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul said the government will not compromise on the investigation into alleged corruption in local civil‑service exams. He announced that four main agencies, including the National Anti‑Corruption Commission, have been ordered to work simultaneously and compete to resolve the case quickly, assuring the public that the process will be transparent.

A special inquiry committee has been formed, chaired by Deputy PM Pakorn Nilprathan and comprising the justice minister, the police chief, the attorney‑general and the anti‑corruption commission secretary. The committee’s mandate covers any individuals, agents or brokers involved, whether inside or outside the Ministry of Interior.

During the same press briefing, Anutin also addressed a separate issue – a water‑leak incident in the MRT Purple Line tunnel in Bangkok. He confirmed that the leak does not affect the tunnel’s structural integrity and that additional geological inspections are underway ahead of the rainy season.
