Thai government updates on exam fraud probe and PR committee

Thai Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul provided an update on the investigation into local government official examination fraud, stating that the case is ongoing and has resulted in the seizure of over 320 million baht in assets. Working alongside the Ministry of Interior, the Anti-Money Laundering Office (AMLO), and the Royal Thai Police, the government has already removed individuals responsible for altering exam scores from their positions. Anutin emphasized that the administration will not protect any offenders, regardless of their status, and will continue to expand the investigation to restore public trust in the civil service.

Separately, the government has restructured the National Public Relations Committee (NPRC). Deputy Prime Minister Supajee Suthumpun, appointed as the new chair, is scheduled to lead the committee’s first meeting on September 14 at Government House. The restructuring follows the completion of terms for previous expert committee members and aims to establish new directions for communicating information to the public and the media through various digital platforms.
