Thai interior deputy minister Warasri addresses civil service exam probe

On 6 July, Interior Ministry Deputy Minister Warasri Leangprasit said a disciplinary committee is being formed to investigate alleged corruption and score irregularities in the recruitment of about 15,000 local civil‑service positions. The review will check answer sheets, examine possible criminal liability and involves the Department of Special Investigation and the National Anti‑Corruption Commission.

The following day, Warasri reiterated that recent allegations by the anti‑corruption commission against his uncle and father, concerning a delayed tourism‑centre contract in Satun Province in 2016, do not affect his duties. He emphasized that any wrongdoing will be judged through due process, and that his public popularity depends on performance, not on the family case.
