Thai Ministry of Interior expands investigation into Din Daeng gambling raid

Following a raid on an illegal gambling den in the Din Daeng residential flats on September 23, 2026, Deputy Interior Minister Worasit Liengprasit has ordered an intensive investigation into all aspects of the operation. The raid resulted in the arrest of 53 individuals, including 8 organizers and dealers, and the seizure of approximately 350,000 baht in cash and 635,000 baht in gambling chips.

Authorities are working to identify the true owners behind the operation, specifically investigating a Cambodian national involved in organizing the games. Investigators are also tracing mysterious phone calls received during the raid and examining whether building modifications were made illegally to facilitate the gambling activities.

Prime Minister and Interior Minister Anutin Charnvirakul has directed officials to expedite the investigation. The probe will include checking for involvement by state officials; if any government employees are found to have been complicit or negligent in their duties, they will face the highest level of criminal and disciplinary action. Additionally, authorities are reviewing the legal status of foreign nationals involved to determine if deportation is warranted.
